KUCHING: Pusat Kecemerlangan Teknikal Sarawak (CENTEXS) Kampus Mukah dijangka akan beroperasi pada separuh kedua tahun ini.
Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif CENTEXS, Syeed Mohd Hussein Wan Abdul Rahman berkata, kampus itu adalah yang kelima di luar Kuching selepas Lundu, Dalat, Lawas dan Betong.
“Dengan pembukaan kampus baharu ini, kita berminat dalam membantu kerajaan negeri untuk menyediakan pelbagai latihan teknikal digital kepada anak muda.
“Ia akan membantu anak muda untuk menjadi pakar dalam pelbagai bidang teknikal sekali gus menyumbang kepada pembangunan ekonomi Sarawak, “ katanya berucap pada majlis Konvokesyen CENTEXS Kelima di Pusat Konvensyen Penview (PCC) di Demak di sini, hari ini.
Majlis konvokesyen berkenaan disempurnakan oleh Pengerusi CENTEXS, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani.
Sehubungan itu, Syeed Mohd Hussein mengalu-alukan golongan belia yang mempunyai bakat tersendiri yang meminati bidang teknikal digital dan warisan bersama untuk mengukuhkan lagi sumber manusia di negeri ini.
“Salah satu sumbangan CENTEXS adalah untuk melahirkan pakar teknologi yang kreatif dalam bidang digital dan teknologi tinggi.
“Dengan pemikiran yang kreatif, ia adalah asas kepada perkembangan ekonomi digital Sarawak dan acuan seterusnya untuk mereka menceburi bidang pekerjaan,” ujarnya
Dalam pada itu, beliau memuji sikap ibu bapa yang menyokong anak mereka melanjutkan pengajian dalam bidang teknikal di negeri ini.
Majlis itu menyaksikan seramai 478 pelajar menerima sijil masing-masing dalam bidang kemahiran teknikal dan warisan.
Graduan terbabit berjaya menamatkan pengajian dalam bidang Minyak dan Gas, Elektrikal dan Pelabuhan, Pembinaan, Tekstil dan Hospitaliti serta digital.
Morshidi menyampaikan sijil kepada salah seorang pelajar sambil disaksikan Syeed Mohd Hussein pada majlis Konvokesyen CENTEXS Kelima di Kuching, hari ini.

In April 2017, The Right Honourable Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg has announced a major paradigm shift in Sarawak development strategy namely Sarawak Transformation through the Digital Economy.
In line with the Sarawak State development strategy, CENTEXS has identified its part to support the Digital Economy in talent development by establishing the Digital Training Unit in June 2017.
CENTEXS Digital Training Unit focus is on the development of technical manpower that will create sufficient digital skills and human resource required for the Sarawak Digital Economy. In March 2019, the Chief Minister of Sarawak, has announced the establishment of the Digital Academy.
The Digital Academy is envisioned to play a crucial role in producing digital talent pool to the industry. The Academy is an Industry relevant education program, focusing on reskilling and upskilling training, targeting school leavers, university graduates and industry employees.
